Today is the beginning of one of Reno’s best events…The Reno River Festival! Three days of superb Kayaking, music, vendors, clinics and it all takes place in the Whitewater park in Downtown Reno. This event brings in over 40,000 people each year. World class professional kayak champs from all over the world come to compete in this event. There is also a crazy race called the Run-AMuck. Its a 2.5 mile, two person race with a 60ft. mud pit to contend with. Teams dress in costume and run along the river in a messy, fun event! There is something for everyone at the River Festival!

Baseball season is here again! Last Thursday night was the opening game for the 2nd season of the Reno Aces and it was great. The game was sold out, which once again solidifies how much Reno is supporting its new Triple-A team.  The new Freight House District opened up that night as well and its fantastic! There are bars, restaurants, outdoor music and outdoor areas to view the game. What a great addition to downtown Reno! It was jammed with people who were all having a wonderful time. I can’t wait for my next visit!

One of the many things I love about living in Reno is the amazing restaurants we have. Reno sometimes gets shadowed by our big brother Las Vegas and its culinary prowess, but Reno should not be forgotten. One place in particular is the 4th St. Bistro. Just a short drive from Downtown Reno, 4th St. Bistro is a foodies dream. Chef Natalie Sellers and General Manager Carol Wilson have truly mastered amazing food, incredible ambiance and the highest quality of service that anyone can expect.

I went to a birthday dinner last night at 4th St. Bistro and had one of the best meals of my life. The fresh asparagus soup, liberty duck and bread pudding were all perfect. I think that 4th St. Bistro would give any New York or San Francisco restaurant a run for their money. So the next time you are wanting an incredible dining experience look no further than 4th St. Bistro…I promise you will not be disappointed.

Reno’s best new address is almost sold out! The Palladio is located right on the Truckee River in downtown Reno. With everything you could need or want within walking distance of The Palladio’s beautiful lobby, it has been the most successful new high-rise in downtown Reno. There are only 4 new units remaining in the 92-unit building. We had two new residents move in last week and they are loving it!

We do have several re-sale units available as well. Unit #901 in particular has incredible views. It is a two bedroom, two bath that overlooks downtown, the Truckee River, Wingfield Park and more. It is easy to tour this incredible building. Just give Kathie (775.741.5675) or myself (775.250.7789) a call and we will show you what the Palladio has to offer.

Living Downtown

I had several showings at The Palladio this morning and I realized, once again, how great it is to live downtown. In between my showings I went to Java Jungle to get a coffee. One block is all it takes to get a latte and a bagel in the morning. As I walked my one block I passed the movie theaters, Silver Peak, The West St. Market and the Wingfield Park Amphitheater. So many things to do and see in just one block…pretty amazing.

The Wine Walk

Every third Saturday a wonderful event takes place in the RiverWalk district of Downtown Reno…The Wine Walk (www.renoriver.org)   More than 25 downtown merchants participate in this great event each month. You start out at any of the merchants, like my wine bar www.weststwinebar.com and purchase your glass for $20. You then get a map of all the participating locations and you are off. The wine walk is a great way to see all that downtown Reno has to offer. Stroll along the river, taste some wine, do some shopping and pick out your next high-rise condo! It happens year round so if you miss one don’t be alarmed…you can catch the one next month!
